PRESTWOLD HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Prestwold Hall is a great wedding venue with many ceremony locations in its lovely grounds. For Amber and Nathan's wedding, they had an outdoor ceremony in the gardens and ended the day with sparklers and fireworks.
BRIDE AND BRIDESMAIDS GETTING READY
The day started for me with the wonderful experience of capturing Amber and her girls getting ready in the beautifully decorated Alice room at Prestwold Hall.
The morning was exceptionally relaxed, especially given the number of people milling around and enjoying the pre-wedding excitement. Amber was incredibly laid back; in fact, I’m not sure I have ever seen a bride quite so at ease on her wedding day morning! Her calm demeanor set a lovely tone for the rest of the day ahead.
THE REVEAL TO DAD
The wedding dress reveal to a parent is always an incredibly special moment, filled with emotion and anticipation. Often, Mums have already had the joy of seeing the Bride in her wedding dress, as they would have been present to help select the perfect gown for the big day.
However, Amber specifically wanted to have a quiet, intimate moment with her Dad. She kindly warned me beforehand that he might become emotional, and he certainly did. It’s essential to remember in these poignant moments that my role is to photograph the genuine emotions as they unfold and to observe quietly, without interfering.
My aim is to capture the shot and then graciously step back, allowing families to relish those special moments together.
WEDDING CEREMONY AT PRESTWOLD HALL
With the weather looking exceptionally good (well, good compared to the rather unpredictable summer of 2024), it was truly wonderful that the couple could hold their wedding ceremony outdoors in the beautifully manicured gardens of Prestwold Hall. Once everyone had found their seats, and with the soft, romantic music playing in the background, the Bridesmaids gracefully made their way down the long, elegant path towards the charming pagoda where the heartfelt wedding ceremony was set to take place.
The final walk together is always a particularly special moment for a father and his daughter, and the extended walk for Amber and her Dad was delightful; it provided them with a precious opportunity to take everything in—the warmth of the day, the presence of their loved ones—and the guests had the joyful chance to appreciate the stunning dress, while Nathan stood nearby, eagerly watching his beautiful Bride-to-be approach him with every step.
The ceremony was a quick one, as Amber and Nathan wanted to get the legal stuff done as quickly as possible. Their primary focus was to spend the rest of the day enjoying precious moments with their family and friends, celebrating their love and the beginning of their new life together.
CONFETTI AT PRESTWOLD HALL
The confetti shot is one of my favorite moments at every wedding; it’s that special time when all the families and friends gather together to joyfully chuck their brightly colored confetti at the newlyweds.
These moments, while filled with laughter, sometimes bring a hint of danger for me, particularly when I find myself walking backward toward some steep steps while trying to capture the perfect shot!
WEDDING SPEECHES AT PRESTWOLD HALL
After spending time with family and friends and taking a few formal photos, it was time to go into Prestwold Hall for the wedding breakfast and speeches. I prefer when speeches happen before the meal, as it allows the speakers to relax and enjoy the food afterward. From a photography viewpoint, it keeps the room tidy without empty plates. The speeches were emotional, and Nathan wrapped up with a memorable mic drop.
THE WEDDING FIRST DANCE AT PRESTWOLD HALL
The evening kicked off with the much-anticipated cake cut and the heartwarming first dance, which, to everyone's delight, surprisingly went quite well for Nathan. This was particularly impressive, considering that most grooms often appear so uncomfortable swaying and dancing in front of their family and friends. However, Nathan truly nailed it and, after the blissful first dance concluded, the live band kicked in, creating an upbeat atmosphere that quickly got everyone up and moving on the dancefloor.
WEDDING FIREWORKS AT PRESTWOLD HALL
Is there truly a better way to conclude your wedding day than with a stunning display of fireworks?
I have had the pleasure of capturing a lot of fireworks at various weddings throughout this year, but something particularly different about the wedding fireworks at Prestwold Hall stood out to me — they were accompanied by music.
This combination of visuals and sound is something I had never seen, or rather heard, before, and it created yet another unique and memorable moment at a wedding celebration.
